Secretary - help provide administrative support to our organization!

The Mental Health Society of Greater Victoria is recruiting a secretary! We are a 100% volunteer organization that adapts to our volunteers' availability. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our organization, including taking minutes at meetings, and other general administrative duties as needed. All tasks for this position will be performed remotely on a flexible schedule. Our meetings are also held remotely over Google Meet. As the organization’s secretary, you will be responsible for the following: Assisting team leaders with meeting scheduling and sending reminders to the team Taking accurate and comprehensive meeting minutes Organizing and editing meeting minutes after meetings Maintaining and updating relevant documents Booking meeting space if/when in-person meetings resume Supporting team leaders with other administrative tasks The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm Must have a strong interest in mental health At least 3 hours of availability per week Be available to attend an additional 1- hour General Meeting every 3 months Excellent organization skills Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills Previous secretarial and/or administrative experience (asset but not required) Previous experience using Slack, Gmail, and Google Calendar (asset but not required) Required Documents: Resume Cover letter Please email the above documents to tereza@mhsvictoria.org in PDF format.
